I was lying in the grass listening to the birds, wishing I could decipher the lyrics of their song. It reminded me of the Slavic Goddess Gamayun, depicted with the body of a bird and the head of a woman, who lives on an island in Paradise. She can often be found perched in the branches of the Tree of Life, singing songs that reveal all the hidden truths of existence. You see, Gamayun was gifted with the knowledge of all creation – from the origins of the world to its eventual destruction. Her songs are both enchanting and haunting, revealing deep cosmic secrets.

Her gift is a tragic one. She is wise beyond measure, but weighed down by the knowledge of how things will unfold. Her knowledge is so profound that hearing her entire song would drive any human who hears it to madness. And so Gamayun remains at the edge of the world, singing her prophecies into the wind, where only fragments reach human ears.

Humans are not meant to hold that much truth. Yet we live in a world that celebrates certainty – we are taught to plan our futures meticulously, to seek security in every step, and to fear the unknown. We want to know how things will turn out, whether our choices will lead to happiness or regret, whether the risks we take will be rewarded. But knowing too much can rob life of its beauty.

Life’s magic lies not in certainty, but in possibility. If we knew exactly how our story would unfold, we might be spared some pain, but we would also lose the thrill of discovery, the wonder of surprise, and the deep satisfaction that comes from finding our own way. Uncertainty is a force that drives growth, creativity, and revelation. Uncertainty is an invitation to get quiet and go deep.

There is a quiet magic in not knowing what tomorrow holds. When life unfolds according to a strict plan, we limit ourselves to the boundaries of our own imagination. But when we surrender to the unknown, we open ourselves to possibilities greater than anything we could have envisioned.

The most beautiful moments in my life are the ones I never saw coming – the chance encounters, the unexpected awe from a wrong turn, the heartbreaks and failures that led me toward a different but better path. Life’s most profound treasures are often found around the bend of I don’t know.

Knowledge can illuminate the path, but it can also darken the soul. True wisdom lies in knowing when to seek answers and when to trust the unknown.

I needn’t unlock the mystery of birdsong. The song itself is magic enough.
